Topic: Shame-Based Family Systems and Communication

Gaylene Biddulph was born and raised in Idaho Falls. She is married to the love of her life Gregory and has 4 incredible children and 6 amazing grandchildren. She has served in the Idaho Falls Addiction Recovery Program as a facilitator, and as the ARP Facilitator Coordinator.

Gaylene has learned through her own life experiences that being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints is NOT Insurance against pain. Through her own painful experience of having children, a parent and siblings become involved in severe, destructive addictions she learned to completely surrender her will and life to the care of our Savior who is mighty to heal and “In all cases he did deliver them from bondage” (Mosiah 29:20).

Gaylene feels that part of her life‘s mission is to learn all she can about substance and behavioral addictions, shame, codependency, and emotionally impaired family systems; then help those who struggle with these issues. She, and her family, testify with authenticity of Christ’s power to heal broken hearts and lives.

As a person in long-term recovery, Jason serves throughout the organization of the church offering personal insight in how to help others effectively avoid, face, and overcome addictions that impact our families and loved ones.

Jason is the author of soon-to-be-released book Unhooked: How to Help an Addicted Loved One Recover! His favorite calling in the church was serving as a facilitator for the LDS Addiction Recovery Program meetings in the Idaho Maximum Security Prison. He serves on the Meridian Anti-Drug Coalition, Drug Free Idaho, and works closely with the Institute for Addiction Study. Currently, Jason serves as the Director of Self-Reliance, specifically Combating the Plague of Pornography in the Star Stake.

Recently Jason’s story was featured on the KSL TV’s General Conference Special, “Choosing Happy” which is available on YouTube.

Joe and Beth live in Star, Idaho with four beautiful kids. Joe is a person in long-term recovery and loves carrying the message of recovery as a sponsor. Joe has helped dozens of people work through the 12-steps and apply the healing power of Jesus Christ in their lives. He calls himself “an average Joe who is eager to share what he’s learned”, but he is anything but average. He is one of the Lord’s chosen soldiers in this battle.

Beth is a beacon of light for the spouses seeking hope. As Beth’s loved one was ensnared by his addiction, she personally experienced incredible trials and came out the other side a refined woman. She is passionate about sponsoring (mentoring/supporting) other women along their own journey and standing up against Satan’s attack on the family.

Trust me, you are going to want to come listen to our keynote speaker this year! Rob deeply understands the chains of the adversary. He is not only a person in long-term recovery, but he was just released as Bishop where he helped many people tap into the healing power of Jesus Christ.

In 1999, Rob and his wife, Wendy, joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in response to two full-time missionaries knocking on their door and offering to share a message about Jesus Christ and the restoration. Rob was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, but grew up in a small town in Oklahoma, and now lives in Boise. He attended Oklahoma State University and, upon graduation, married Wendy. They have been married for 29 years, and have enjoyed raising four boys – Taylor, Jennings, Charlie and Elliot. Currently, Rob serves as General Counsel to Hawkins Companies LLC, a national commercial retail development company.

Over the years, Rob has served in a variety of capacities in the Church, including most-recently as a Bishop. He has also donated time and energy in a variety of ways to several public services, including serving as a director to non-profit organizations, various leadership positions within the Boy Scouts of America, a lecturer in private and public settings, a coach for youth sports, and a mixed martial arts and self-defense instructor. Rob’s sobriety date is April 4, 1989. According to Rob, honesty with himself and others and a deep desire to be an honorable and trustworthy man are the foundation of his sobriety. He is passionate about sharing his experience, strength and hope with you as you walk the road to recovery and secure the blessings of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
